But Google recently introduced a feature that lets users sync or download Google Fonts straight to their desktop, so they may use them in other applications such as Microsoft Office or Adobe Photoshop. Method 1: Download And Install Google Fonts Without Using Third Party App

The first step is to go to Google Fonts website by clicking here. The website currently holds about 600+ different fonts in its repository that you can use for absolutely free.
Since the website presents a huge collection of fonts and you can use the integrated search function to find your favorite font from the repository. Just type the font name of the typeface and the results will be almost instantly filtered.
Once you’ve found your favorite font type from the list, click on the ‘Add to Collection’ button. You can add as many fonts to your collection as you wish and download them in one go. Once you’ve added the fonts, simply click the Download button at the top right highlighted in the screenshot below.
In the next step you need to choose the method by which you would like to download the fonts to your computer. Since our first method excludes all third party apps, simply click the download ‘Collection as a ZIP file’ link.
Once downloaded, you can extract the font(s) from the ZIP file using any archive tool of your choice such as 7Zip or WinRAR.
The final step is to open the font(s) folder you extracted from the ZIP file followed by right-clicking and selecting ‘Install’ from the context menu. That’s about it. Your new fonts will now become available under many desktop applications.
Method 2: Download And Install Google Fonts Using SkyFonts
Google also recommends using SkyFonts application for downloading their web fonts. SkyFonts helps users to sync the fonts to their PC, which requires downloading and installing a small desktop client to the computer. The process is also fairly simple. Let us show you how it works.
Proceeding up to Step 4 in method one, when Google prompts you about choosing the download method, just click SkyFonts from the list.
Once you’re on the Fonts.com page click on the ‘SkyFonts Download’ button to begin download.
SkyFont may ask you to download and install .NET Framework 4.0 to your computer if it isn’t already found. So just checkmark it from the list as well and click Install.
The SkyFonts application is pretty small and doesn’t take much resources. You can access it from its notification icon on system tray. Once opened, click the ‘Choose Fonts’ button under the Services tab.
Your one step closer to downloading your favorite Google Fonts using SkyFonts. The application will open up the Google Fonts page from where you can easily browse and sync all the available typefaces. To sync or download a font, simply click the blue SkyFonts button next to each item followed by ‘Add’ in the small prompt.
SkyFonts automatically synchronizes the added fonts to your desktop. And a notification bubble also appears to confirm the download.
Now right click SkyFonts’ system tray icon and select ‘Manage Services’.
Click ‘Open Google Font Folder’ in the SkyFonts window.
Lastly, right click the downloaded fonts and click ‘Install’ from the context menu to finish installing the fonts to your PC.
